Following the opening of the Singapore Airshow 2014 on the 11th of February 2014, UTC Aerospace Systems (UTAS) and Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC) today announced a new contract that will establish the long-term partnership of both companies. The announcement was conducted by the UTAS, Mr. John Gimmie and the AIDC representative Mr. Gary Lo (VP), with the witness of the AIDC Senior VP , Mr. Tony Liu. The new partnership presents part of UTAS’ ambition to strengthen its global supply chain niche and continuously enhance its corporate competence. Through this contract, AIDC is awarded to supply composite nacelle parts across various types of recently introduced single aisle and regional commercial airplanes.
UTAS, as the world’s leading supplier of nacelle systems, was transformed from formerly known Goodrich Aerostructures. The company greatly complements and advances UTC (United Technologies Corp.) strategy of focusing on its core businesses and strengthens its position in the emerging commercial aerospace market.
AIDC, a Taiwan based and 100% government owned aerospace industry company, with the leadership of the Chairman, Mr. Jason Liu, is aggressively pursuing its involvement in the global supply chain to the major players of the aerospace industry. The contract announced today is one more step forward to achieve AIDC’s company vision. The contract will contribute significant revenue growth to AIDC in the coming two decades till the service life of the relevant commercial airplanes.
