IDF Fighter

Designed to meet counter-air and surface attack needs of the future, the IDF (Ching-Kuo Fighter) is a twin-engine, all-weather, highly maneuverable, multipurpose combat aircraft which provides high performance at low acquisition and support cost.
The IDF is equipped with two afterburning turbofan engines, advanced multi-mode radar, highly integrated avionics system, triple-redundant digital “fly-by-wire” system and an optimized one-man operation modern cockpit with Hands-on-Throttle and Stick (HOTAS).
The navigation function is accurately provided to the IDF by a laser inertial navigation system in addition to the state-of-the-art Armament, mechanical, hydraulic, fuel and electrical systems. These systems are integrated to support a highly effective weapon system, which greatly enhance combat capability and cost management.
The IDF is the only military fighter produced outside the United States, and is designed and tested in total accordance with U.S. military specifications and practices. Incorporated with a modified airframe, new systems, new engines, and new missiles, the IDF demonstrates the qualities of easy handling, high maneuverability, maintainability, safety, and reliability, which enables the IDF to sustain up-to-date superior capabilities.
