Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC), the largest aircraft manufacturer in Taiwan, signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Boeing, in which authorizes AIDC to produce Tip, Strakelet, and Body Seal packages for the B787-9 aircraft, and an extension of contract to provide Boeing with related pressurized doors for the B737 and the B737MAX through 2021. The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) exchange ceremony between AIDC and Boeing was held on June 18, 2013 at the Paris Air Show.
AIDC has manufactured pressurized doors for the B737 and B747-8 aircraft since 2003. AIDC has been recognized by Boeing as a reliable and high quality supplier and was presented the “Silver Boeing Performance Excellence Award” in 2011 and 2012. Based on continuous and extended cooperation on the B737 and B747-8, AIDC was awarded the B787-9 order and has formally become a member of the supply chain for the B737 MAX which is expected to bring in an estimated $3 billion NT dollar revenue for AIDC.
Chairman Jason Liu of AIDC, commented that AIDC is both pleased and proud to have received this order and to extend cooperation between Boeing and AIDC. He further expressed that AIDC is confident and fully prepared to meet the needs of current and future programs.
