Debut of the Taiwan Aerospace Industry Forum

The "2018 Aerospace Industry and Policy Forum" which jointly planned by the Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC) and the Aerospace Association was held on December 6th and 7th, 2018 at the B1 International Conference Hall of the National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH) International Convention Center in Taipei, Taiwan.
The Aerospace Forum is a platform for the exchange of opinions between representatives of industry, government, academy and research institutes and principally focuses upon the "Review and Prospects of Global and Taiwan's Aerospace Industry Trends", "Aerospace Composite Materials Development and Application", "Aerospace Industry Talent Cultivation and Development" and "Aerospace Intelligent Machinery and Manufacturing Development". The distinguished keynote speakers included Vice President Chen Jian-Ren, Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) Deputy General Manager Shimogawa Yuka and Chief Executive Director of Taiwan AI School Chen Sheng-Wei.
A sample of topics of discussion concluded for example: The average global economic growth rate in the past decade was about 2.2%. The global aerospace manufacturing market had a steady growth rate of more than 4% per year. Both Boeing and Airbus have estimated the output value of the new aircraft demand will be worth of $6 trillion U.S. dollars in the next 20 years; and in recent years, Taiwan's aerospace industry has grown by an average of 8% per year. The forum concluded with the government's policy of using domestic products, the future development of Taiwan's aerospace industry is promising.
