The collaboration between AIDC and the aerospace engine giant Rolls-Royce hit a major program milestone again. In August 2021, the Gulfstream G700 test aircraft took its flawless first flight in Gulfstream headquarters in Savannah, GA. As the core components supplier of the Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 Advance 2 engine, AIDC received an encouraging letter from Mr. Christopher Greave, Executive of Supplier Management of Rolls-Royce Asia Pacific Civil Aerospace, expressing appreciation and recognition of AIDC’s continuous efforts that contributed to the great performance of the Advance 2 engine.
Rolls-Royce launched the performance upgrade, Advance 2, for the Pearl 700 engine in 2019 in response to the increasing competitiveness in the civil aerospace market. To support the effort, AIDC built the fourth Case Line factory dedicated fully to manufacture core components for the Advance 2 engine. In 2020, AIDC started concurrent engineering to develop new types of components under the new configuration. The end products fully satisfied the performance requirements of the upgrade program on time and on expectation. According to Rolls-Royce prediction, the demand of Pearl 700 Advance 2 engine will multiply starting 2022, therefore it looks forward to expand collaboration with AIDC to achieve a new height of performance.
