Good news announced in the Farnborough Airshow: AIDC awarded 1B Boeing Contract

AIDC will has contract exchange ceremony with Sicamb S.p.A company, Italy for B787-8 horizontal stabilizer leading edge Aux. Box Assembly composite panel and metallic spar at Farnborough Airshow in July. Currently, AIDC and Sicamb S.p.A company are the dual sources to provide the B787-8 Horizontal Aux. Box Assembly for AleniaAermachii company, which is located in Italy. In consideration of the potential production decrease of B787-8 configuration in the future, AIDC will manufacture the composite panel, Sicamb S.p.A company will manufacture the metallic spar. The cooperation between AIDC and Sicamb S.p.A company is to maintain the future production scale for B787-8 Aux. Box manufacturing respectively due to the new B787-9 configuration will be entered into service in 2014.
AIDC already delivered the first ship set of B787-8 Aux Box Assembly to AleniaAermachii company in October, 2011. Furthermore, this new contract awarded from Sicamb S.p.A company will bring additional 1 billion NT dollars contract as B787-8 revenues for AIDC.
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is a long-range, and mid-size wide-body jet airliner. It is the world's first major airliner to use over 50% composite materials for the structure. The first Boeing B787-8 was delivered to All Nippon Airways in September, 2011.
