AIDC and Bombardier Sign Long-Term Agreement for Challenger 3500 Cockpit Assembly

TAIPEI, September 7, 2026 —Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC) and Bombardier today marked the conclusion of a Specific Terms Agreement (STA) covering the cockpit assembly of the Challenger 3500 business jet.
The agreement was marked during a ceremony in Taipei. AIDC Chairman Chin-Ping Tsao and Eric Filion, Bombardier Executive Vice President, Programs, Procurement, Engineering Support and Product Innovation, presided over the ceremony, witnessed by Minister of Economic Affairs Kung Ming-hsin, a representative of the Canadian Trade Office in Taipei and other distinguished guests.
The Challenger 3500 is the best-selling super-midsize business jet in the world. AIDC has supported the program since 1999 and today produces rear fuselage and empennage structural assemblies, with more than 1,100 shipsets delivered to date. Bombardier has named AIDC a Diamond Supplier on multiple occasions, its highest rating for quality and delivery performance. This new work package extends AIDC's scope on the aircraft from the aft fuselage to the cockpit assembly.
The award followed a two-year pursuit and completion of Bombardier's technical review in April. AIDC will team up with domestic suppliers, especially strategic partner Drewloong Precision, to enhance and elevate the industrial capability through this package.

AIDC's commercial strategy is to deepen relationships with existing customers and move up the work package to major structure assembly. The Bombardier agreement gives the company long-term, stable business momentum as it works toward becoming a Tier-1 international aerostructures supplier.
