AIDC held F-16V upgrade program glee feast on December 21st, 2023, inviting domestic and foreign partners to celebrate the successful upgrade of Taiwan’s main fighters F-16V. The glee feast was very lively with singing and dancing. A friend who were invited to the feast said they have worked with AIDC for many years, and both parties trust each other with great teamwork. AIDC is truly a good partner and they expect for more collaboration opportunities in the future.
AIDC signed the contract with Lockheed Martin, USA in 2014 to conduct the upgrade.
The program is quite complex which involving R.O.C. Air Force, the US government, Lockheed Martin and AIDC. This was the first time for both Lockheed Martin and AIDC to conduct such a large program of multinational configuration change and upgrade. The F-16V upgrade program was the largest F-16 upgrade program ever in the US, except for the first 2 test fighters, the remaining 139 fighters were all finished upgrade by AIDC. This program was completed on December. 19th, 2023, and the huge sign “Delivered Quantity” was officially shown as 139, declaring the whole program is successful completed!
