Heat treatment is a method used to alter the physical, and sometimes chemical, properties of a material. The most common application in AIDC is metallurgical. Heat treatment involves the use of heating or chilling, normally to extreme temperatures, to achieve a desired result such as hardening or softening of a material.

AIDC heat treatment techniques include solution treatment of aluminum alloy, annealing, quenching, aging, hardening and stress relieving. The process and equipments have been approvals by NADCAP and the company numerous in the aerospace industry.
